This seemed to represent Joe Jackson's foray into something approximating classical (i.e., incredibly thoughtful, sophisticated, and meaningful) music, followed 2 years later by his Symphony No. 1. My recollection is that the reviewers were not kind, but I liked it (and I generally like artists who attempt something new rather than trotting out their Greatest Hits tour after tour). A guy I was dating and I went to hear the show in Chicago several months after this London date; I remember him saying to me afterwards that it was gratifying that he would never have to hear those tunes again. (One of several reasons this was our last date.)

mattbea61 said, when he posted this Heaven & Hell tour show in Nov. '07, "This is a new transfer from my DAT tape that has never been traded before. I am offering it up now in anticipation of the tenth anniversary! Sorry I'm so slow. I made no attempt to improve the sound as I find it perfectly fine as is although the limitations of the mic used combined with the hall's acoustics produce their own sonic artifacts. Overall I thought best to leave well enough alone merely making a few snips where there was too much silence or excessive applause. I have faded out at the end of the Heaven and Hell suite and faded in before the encore thus avoiding the need to name a track "long applause." A few mic bumps are audible and a few asides to my partner (now wife) but nothing too distracting."

The recording stayed on the tracker til the following July. But the upload was flooded with SBEs (ref. shntool_len_original.txt), so I removed them (ref. shntool_len_fixed.txt) and re-encoded everything back to FLAC with TLH. And I created a new .ffp file. Otherwise, I left our French brother's recording as is.
