Joe Sample should need no introduction. He was the principal songwriter behind "The Jazz Crusaders" from 1961 to 1980, and has been
solo since then, although there were some Crusader Reunion Shows a few years ago. The man is truly a living jazz legend. He suffered a severe
heart attack on May 30, 2009 and was flatly told by his doctors not to perform. Here he is, performing, against his Doctor's specific orders, so
this is a rarity. This is a serious show, for serious jazz fans. Each track is preceded by one of Joe's stories about his life or the recording,
and frankly, the stories are just as interesting as the tracks.

There is an idiot next to me who wanted to give me a running commentary on each song, even though I turned my back on him, he still babbled on.
Anthology also has some chairs which make an awful noise when moved in or out, so you will hear those from time to time. Finally, there is an
airconditioning system which sounds like you are in a wind tunnel. I did my best to cut that stuff out on post editing, but remnants remain. Most of
the babbling is in the 1st set during the first few songs and the A/C noise is in the last numbers.

Enjoy this rarity.
