This is Joe Satriani’s debut in Lithuania. The show is a part of the tour in support of
his album "Unstoppable Momentum". Not much else can be said for those who know who
Satriani is and what he does on stage.
Though the recording is quite experimental so to say and its’ defects irritates a bit
while listening through headphones, anyway it is good enough. I‘d give it 8/10.
Combination of the equipment used for this recording was new to me, so after testing it on
the opening band I decided that it’s more safe to record as close to the sound source as
possible. So for the sake of experiment I sacrificed my ears, better listening position
and put the mics about 1 meter from 3 big exploding boxes build on the floor and thus
captured the right side of the stereo mix full of Joe’s guitar. For my ears it was
necessary to bring a feeling that it’s not a guitar clinic, but a 4 piece band’s concert
in a middle size theater. That was the only aim of postproduction.
