Recorded from the back row on the orchestra level.

I knew Joe was playing Cincinnati on his Earth 2022-2023 tour, but I thought the show had already passed. My plan was to head up to Ohio for the Andy Timmons guitar clinic earlier that day, and I thought I'd check Ticketmaster to see if there were any good shows happening that night. I was pleasantly surprised to see that not only was Joe's gig still coming up, but it was on the same damn day!
Uber took ages to make it to the 3rd Rock Music Center (the venue of Andy's guitar clinic) but I finally made it to the Taft with a little extra time. I asked a random guy on the street if he would recommend any restaurants in the area, and he recommended a place called "The Inbetween." I walked the two blocks there, and had a great burger and some average fries. It was exactly what I needed before the show.
Inside the Taft, the crowd seemed a little sparse. I figured tickets weren't selling well when I bought mine for $13 + fees, but as the wait progressed the place filled up. Joe took the stage around 5 minutes at 8 PM, and it was an incredible night. He played two packed sets, and the entire band was on fire. My only complaint is that I wish the band had a little more time to shine throughout the evening. Every time a band member seemed to gear up for a solo, Joe swooped in and took one. Joe is touring with the bassist for The Aristocrats, which hooked me instantly, but his drummer is a legend and though I've never heard of the keyboardist before, he blew me away by the second set. I would highly recommend this tour, and this is a solid recording! I had to be a little more prolyfic than usual with my pop filter, since my taping spot gave me access to lots of clappers, but the sound from the PA is clear and crisp.
I tried something new on this recording. During track 28, there is a significant amount of crowd participation, but the crowd vocals were quieter than I liked. I used a stem extraction tool called Demucs to break track 28 into its component stems, and selectively applied the vocal track over places where the crowd needed more volume. The result is pretty cool! The vocal stem was applied over the original, unaltered track, so we don't have to worry about artifacts or audio loss.

I would like to include a heartfelt thank you to the people over at Setlist.FM for constantly doing their best to update and accurately post setlists from every show possible. Everyone makes mistakes (and they're known for it) but they have helped me immensely in writing up track listings for my show, and lots of the information found accompanying my shows is thanks to them. Whether I have used Setlist.FM to collect information for this particular show or not, they deserve so many thanks for all the help they have given me in the past.
Finally, the confusion regarding the legality of recording concerts is because of those who sell them. I do not condone selling freely-shared live music, and blame those who sell concerts for the lack of people recording and sharing content, as well as for the bad reputation society places upon those of us who do. Let it also be noted that any who sell this recording deserve nothing more than to have their own collection confiscated and shared freely with the masses. Please only degrade audio quality for personal use. Also, I ask that you keep this info file intact.
