Portland based mandolin master Joe Walsh (Gibson Brothers, Yulegrass, Stowaways),
fiddler extraordinaire Darol Anger (Republic of Strings, Yulegrass, The Furies etc.)
blistering guitar hero Grant Gordy (David Grisman Quintet) and Karl Doty, bass
(Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and A Far Cry) will come together for a special night
of acoustic string music. Come and join us for an evening of inspired original
tunes, expertly crafted standards and spontaneous musical serendipity with this
once in a lifetime cast of super string stars

Joe, formerly of Joy Kills Sorrow
and The Gibson Brothers, also plays with the Portland-based all star bluegrass
ensemble The Stowaways.

Darol Anger, Exceptional among modern fiddlers for his
versatility and depth, Darol Anger has helped drive the evolution of the contemporary
string band through his involvement with numerous pathbreaking ensembles such as
his Republic Of Strings, the Turtle Island String Quartet, the David Grisman Quintet,
Montreux, the Duo and other ensembles. Today Darol can be heard on NPR's "Car Talk"
theme every week, along with Earl Scruggs, David Grisman and Tony Rice. He has
recorded and produced scores of important recordings since 1977, is a MacDowell
and UCross Fellow, and has received numerous composers' residencies and grants.
He is a featured soloist on dozens of recordings and motion picture soundtracks.

Recently Grant Gordy has become the newest member of the legendary David Grisman
Quintet, which has played all over the country at concert halls and festivals
including Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in June 2009. He has shared the stage
with such luminaries of the acoustic music world as Mike Marshall, Edgar Meyer,
Bla Fleck, Darol Anger and of course David Grisman. He is quickly becoming
recognized for pushing and blurring the boundaries of acoustic music in his
compositions and improvisation, his assimilation of jazz influences, and his
exceptional facility with his instrument.

Monstrous bass player Karl Doty will
provide the low notes in this string extravaganza. Karl embodies the three T's
every musician aspires to (Taste, Timing, and Tone) and frequently plays with
both the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and A Far Cry. He's also familiar to fans
of Heather Masse, who he plays with often, and was a founding member of
acoustic/pop/grass group Joy Kills Sorrow.
