The JOHN CAGE FAMILY rehearsals [2004.08.30]

During summer 2004 (the precise date could be wrong), while they were getting bored in the countryside, three independants artists payed a stirring tribute to
the late John Cage.
Recorded with an old tape recorder, this 08min28 testimony is a precious rarity.
No further mixing process was made.

THE JOHN CAGE FAMILY SESSION [2007.09.02]

Three years later, the John Cage Family is together again.
The duo - Samy Tong was absent - expands a bit the rythmic aspect of the first recording and focuses deeper on the sonic aspect of improvisation.
All the session was entirely improvised.
The three sets are presented in their chronological recorded order.
The two first sets were recorded with a slight reverb.
The sound of the third one is natural.
Only first set was edited. No further mixing process was made.

and two transistors live
with
Cetornan, bass tom, pad, guiro, hit bed gantry, trash can, cymbals, radiator, sunscreen tube, alarmclock
clappings, voice, sneezing...
guiro stick, multi-rod drumstick, brushes

Because of the reduced lineup, the two performers are both soloists at the same time.
The following lineup shows the instruments used in chronological order.
The Cetornan is an instrument patented by Erwin Toul, inaugurated for the occasion.
On the last set, you can hear the sound of an alarm clock amplified by a transistor's speaker.
This discovery was actually made during the recording.
