Notes:

A few days ago, Mike (mlmarmer) pointed me to a radio show from 1988 hosted by Dick Cerri that he recorded at https://archive.org/details/DickCerriMusicAmericanaRadioShowFeaturingJohnDenverAugust281988Tape1. The show features an interview with John Denver, and Dick mentions John's first performance at Wolf Trap in 1988. As I was listening to the show, I realize that I have a recording of the 1988 concert Dick mentioned, so I dug it out and had a listen. Its sound quality is better than I remembered, so I decided to upload it to DIME. The vocals are really clear, though the crowd noise is a bit too much. The recording went a tad fast so I slowed it down a bit.

John only brought two of his band members on this tour - James Burton and Jerry Scheff, both previously members of Elvis Presley's band. By the time this concert took place, John's studio album "Higher Ground" just came out, so he sang 8 songs from the new album. On the other hand, he would still perform songs as old as "Jet Plane" and "Country Roads". Two of the songs were sung to the track - "Flying for Me" and "What Are We Making Weapons For?", which features Russian singer Alexander Gradsky on vocals. He also invited a local string quartet to join him on a couple of songs, including the encore, "Falling Leaves", a tribute to the refugees. A nice show indeed.

Since I'm from China, my English is not good enough to fully understand the site FAQ, so there might be some problems with my torrent. Please tell me if you find anything wrong.
