John Denver - Acoustic Guitar, Vocals

Notes:

This concert is from John Denver's last European tour, also one of the last John Denver shows recorded. Though I've shared a lot of John's concerts before, this is the first solo acoustic John Denver show here on DIME. However, two of the songs were sung to the tracks recorded - "A Country Girl in Paris" and "Is It Love?".

The highlight of the show is that John did "Durango Mountain Caballero", a song he hadn't sung in more than 10 years. That was per my friend Jochen's special request. Jochen chatted with John backstage before the concert and John decided to do that song instead of "Ponies". John did seem to have forgotten some of the words to the song, but to hear the song again is indeed a rare treat. Another interesting thing is that the last verse in "Matthew" was sung very slowly, in a speaking way.
