These were originally streamed on WFMU between March 6 and June 4 2001.

These are the broadcast dates and durations of each segment.

They may be lossy, and they were reported at the time to be only segments of much longer tracks.

The programmer had expressed some concerns about sharing them, as they were private recordings which he had only had access to, but did not actually own. It seems they were in fact recordings made by Fahey for a specific individual, which I believe is where the “Muse” name came from - possibly by the programmer who aired the segments of the tracks. There was a bit of a stigma attached to the tracks, as though someone’s privacy had been invaded.

After the last of these segments was streamed in June 2001, they were all removed, and to the best of my recollection, the programmer who had shared them seemed somewhat reticent it not apologetic for having aired them publicly. No further mention was made of the tracks on the station, and I haven’t heard any talk about them until now, in fact.
