this was my first succseful audience recording which i recorded almost by accident. i brought my new sony d3 recorder to the show to record Arlo .i didn't even know who john hartford was but made a quick decision to hit the record button. glad i did.
i rediscovered this a few years ago searching for something to digitize. when i relistened to it all those years later i realized i had a real gem. not only does this recording allow you to hear a wonderful artist it also lets you hear the audience react and interact. the warmth and feeling of that summer night shines through and if you happened to be at this show it really puts you back in that tent. The Rose Arts festival only lasted a few more years and it was a favorite for many of us living in the area.
so although there's a good amount of audience and clapping, i hope everyone enjoys this.

the occasional squeaking sound is from the seats which were tied tightly together.

here's my best guess at the song titles

01 skippin in the mississippi dew orange blosson special
02 taking me back to my Mississippi River Home
03 in tall buildings
04 piece of my heart
05 way down the river road
06 learning to smile all over again
07 good old electric washing machine circ 1943
08 wrong road again
09 let him go on, mama
10 boogie
11 wish we had our time again
12 little cabin home on the hill waugh
13 gentle on my mind
14 rollin in my sweet baby's arms
15 precious memories
