John Hiatt
"Never Mind The Polyps"

In late 1998, John Hiatt was informed by his doctor that he had developed
polyps on
his vocal cords which would have to be removed. With the real possibility that
he would
permanently lose his singing voice as a result of the operation, John entered
the studio in
early 1999 to record what could have been his last performance ever.
Thankfully, with the
operation a success and John's complete recovery, we can happily say:E

Official Tracks from "Crossing Muddy Waters" and "Tiki Bar is Open" have been
Removed.

Frank's notes:

Lolita did us all a favor by uploading, in Torrent 156488, some of the demos John Hiatt did that have been in circulation as Never Mind The Polyps.... This was a reseed, Nanook had originally uploaded the full set on March 2, 2005. Because of the way the info file was worded, the EZT moderators banned the torrent. The ban was because the info file was interpreted as meaning the same tracks as in the Polyps demos were used on officially released albums. Lolita used the same info file, by the way.

Frank's reading of the info file is that Nanook was merely saying what album the songs finally did appear on. The versions on the Polyps demos are, at least to Frank's ears, significantly different from the versions that were officially released.

Frank brought this to the attention of the mods, one of whom responded with a challenge that this particular mod had both released albums and if Frank thought the difference would withstand this mod's comparison, to go ahead and upload them.

A CHALLENGE!!!!

Well, check for yourself as here are the full and complete Polyp demos...

Thanks to Nanook, Lolita, and all Frank's English teachers....
