Transferred from 1st Gen Cassette (Best surviving master).
No info regarding recording equipment is available,
but some kind of portable cassette recorder with a built-in
microphone was most likely used.

This is another recording made by a friend of mine, Knut A., who used to tape a lot of concerts in the Tromso-area in Northern Norway in the 1980s and early 1990's. When he passed away in 1996, his sister gave me access to his tape collection, and allowed me to transfer the tapes to CDRs. Unfortunately Knut had the habit of editing the recordings himself, and dub them onto other cassettes, after which he often erased the original tapes. This was unfortunately also the case with this recording of John Mayall's Bluesbreakers. The original master tape doesn't exist anymore, so that's why this transfer is made from a 1st Gen tape. This tape is the best surviving master.

As for the recording itself, I think it includes pretty much the whole show, with the exception of one or more tracks by the band before John Mayall came on the stage.

There are a few minor hic-ups / pops here and there (at 0:27 on disc 1, track 1, and also a couple on track 2, disc 2), but these are all on the original tape as well. I haven't done any attempt to remaster or otherwis alter the recording; I've just fixed a few obvious flaws, and that's about it. Here's what I've done:
1) Boosted the level about 3,97 dB.
2) Smoothened out tape start/ends by adding rapid fade-ins/fade-outs to remove or disguise tape recorder noises (No music has been lost!).
3) Inserted index marks.
