John Mayall and the band put on a great show. The pre-show
promos said that this was a hot band and they were!

I've only seen John Mayall once before and that was in the
early 70's when he played as part of the Newport Jazz Festival at
Lincoln Center in New York City.

Maybe it was the mix in the hall, John's voice didn't sound as
strong as we are used to on the commercial albums. However,
for someone who will be turning 80 years old in November, he
sounded truly astounding. Combine that with his harmonica and overall
playing - wow!

This was my first recording using the SONY PCM-M10 after upgrading from
an MZ-RH1 mini disc machine. Thanks to the various folks at taperssection
who gave pre-purchase info and various hints about initial settings. Since
this was the first time I used it in a concert environment, you may hear
some minor level adjustments during the first song.

Note: Kim Simmonds of Savoy Brown was the opening act performing solo.
