Source (main broadcast): WWOZ-FM radio broadcast > Sony TCD-D7 (32kHz, long play; original DAT can no longer be located)

Source: (rebroadcast, unknown date): WWOZ > DAT (details were not recorded; original DAT can no longer be located)

Editing and re-transfer to DAT (circa May-June 1999): master DATs (above) > Sony TCD-D7 > Audiomedia III soundcard (spdif) > Macintosh G3 > Bias Peak 2.62 (converted to 44.1kHz-best setting; two sources edited together) > Tascam DA-P1 > DAT

Transfer to flac (February 2005): DAT (edited source, 44.1 kHz) > Sony PCM-R500 > (spdif) > Audiomedia III soundcard > Macintosh G3/300 > Bias Peak 2.62 > firewire hard drive > Macintosh Powerbook G4/1000 > Bias Peak 4.12 (additional edit, see below; normalized by 3.5 db; indexed; and saved as individual .wav song files) > X Audio Compression Toolkit 1.4b20 > flac

Editing notes (1999)

The original broadcast was 43:52. However, 14 minutes from a different source of mine (also FM > DAT), apparently a rebroadcast but whose exact origin I can't remember and didn't notate, was used to create a complete recording of this show.

Repair notes (March 2005):

In saving the edited version back to DAT (in 1999), there was apparently a hard drive glitch about 4:38 into Track 3. However, when an audio CDR was created from the master, edited recording, probably the same day, the same track did not have this problem. So, to create this flac archive in 2005, I spliced the good portion of the song from my ripped CDR into the bad portion from the DAT. (The original, unedited 32kHz source could not be located and may no longer exist.)

The 2.754-second splice from CDR replaced a portion that was only 2.011 seconds in duration on the DAT clone. The unedited original pieces are archived. The splice is from sector 12111799 to 12233213 on the CDR track, inserted into sector 12249947 to 12338593 of original Track 3 from DAT. The CDR splice was lowered 0.09 db.

Note: There is some FM static for about 1.2 seconds, about 21 seconds into the intro.
