Notes:

Last year, I promised I'd upload some Christmas concerts before Christmas this year, and this is one of them.

It's always sweet to hear John Prine performing solo acoustic. Unlike John Denver, whose Christmas shows would include mostly Christmas-related materials, John Prine only did a few Christmas numbers in this show. He started off with the funny Tommie Connor song "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus", and included two of his own songs related to Christmas later in the show - "Christmas in Prison" and "Everything Is Cool". But the real treat here is the performance of "Silent Night All Day Long", the only "real" Christmas song penned by John Prine. The song was later released on the 1993 album A John Prine Christmas, and I don't believe any other recording of it exists.

For setlists from this show and a bunch of other John Prine shows, please visit my John Prine setlist page at http://ddpro.ucoz.com/setlists/johnprine/. The setlists of all John Prine live recordings I know will all be posted there, along with a 90-second sample for each recording.

Merry Christmas everyone!!!
