2 - Taper's show description & comments follow:

The "Ontario Theatre" was located in the Adams-Morgan section of town, which at the
time, was what we would call a "transitional" neighborhood. I think it's quite a trendy
place today, but I could be wrong on that. During the few shows I saw there, sometimes
the locals would come out and hassle the people waiting in line to see the show.

Like the previous night in Owings Mills, there was a rowdy crowd, but this one had a lot of
the dregs of society attending as well. Lots of vests sporting MC and 1%, if you get my
drift, and a lot of bad attitudes in the crowd. It was unseasonably hot, and the theatre
was hotter than hell. Two local bands opened, and the sound was terrible. The second
band, featuring a black Hendrix inspired guitarist, quite good, even left mid-performance to
go back to the mixing desk and complain. When Johnny came on, the sound improved
dramatically, so obviously they were either screwing the locals, or didn't care.

I went to the show with my friend Paul, who was a super jazz guitarist, who at the time,
was forced to make a living in a slick Top 40 cover band. He did finally get to record some
of his jazz stuff, but it never happened for him. I normally did my best to keep my mouth
shut, or only talk during breaks between songs, but conditions were so appalling, that you
hear me WAY more than usual. Even though the place had great seating, with good
sightlines, we were forced to stand for the whole show. People kept coming in and out of
our aisle, which was another pain. Lots of "this is bull shit" comments. Several of the dregs
were hauled off by security, with police escorts helping. This was most noticeable during
"Rollin' And Tumblin'", so sorry for opening my big mouth! I don't think Johnny had as much
fun as the previous night either, and this show was noticeably shorter than the "Painter's
Mill" show.
