Source: Original Master Cassette
Taper/Equipment unknown
Master cassette>PC>EAC>FLAC level 8

C.S. Productions is happy to present its next release for your enjoyment. This source comes from the original master tape which until now, has not seen the light of day.The story goes that a friend of a friend taped the show as a favor to my friend. The taper gave him the master cassette to copy but later the taper disappeared and he lost touch with him.I was originally given two 90 minute tapes a few years back to transfer to CD but after checking both of them, one was just a copy of the master. So I had a copy on CD for quite some time but it was never traded merely because I don't really collect Johnny Winter. However, over time the CDs went bad so I managed to get ahold of my friend who still had the tapes sitting in a shoe box. I did a fresh transfer with new equipment and encoded it to FLAC. No EQ'ing or mastering of any kind was done to the original source.Only the levels were brought back up as they should be.
The sound is pretty decent so I know many of you J.W. fans and collectors will be quite happy to have a copy of this. The tape ends quite abruptly at the end of the second disc since the taper may have been switching tapes. It is possible that this show is incomplete, however there is no other material to be found. I checked the 1st gen tape entirely just to make sure and asked my friend if there was anything else.Unfortunately there isn't.If there was more to this show which is possible, it's either lost with the taper or it was never recorded.
So there you have it folks. I have made some very generic artwork for this release. In fact only a back cover with the setlist which I hope I got right. As I said I am not a huge fan so I may have not gotten right. I assumed the first track on the first disc was instrumental and the second song was a Jimmy Reed song that I guessed. So if I am wrong on the setlist, please let me know.In fact,if someone would like to make some proper artwork for this show then I invite them to do so.I only ask you that you provide the same text/credit and C.S. logo from the original back cover.
Lastly, thanks to J-Bird for providing the source tape.I know many out there will appreciate this one.Enjoy folks.
