Wow! What a concert and what a band! The high temperature was barely tolerable, but the bluegrass kept pouring our way. In fact I think the people on stage suffered worse from the heat than the audience.

The place was packed this night! The beer I had before the concert I am sure came back out as sweat. Unable to find a seat (I came in an hour early) I found a place where I could see the stage; I guess 8 meters from the stage center. Performing in front of only one microphone is the JF/CCL standard and so also this evening.

The band - Chatham County Line - comes from North Carolina. Jonas Fjeld comes from Drammen, Norway. Most of the stage banter is in Norwegian. The collaboration started in 2006 when Fjeld wanted to play his old genre favorite; bluegrass music. CCL was amused by the invitation knowing that the Norwegian had previously worked and recorded with Eric Andersen and Rick Danko. They recorded a concert album; "Amerikabesøk" ("Visit from America") which became a great success in Norway. In 2008 they went to the U.S. to record their second album together; "Brother of Song".

Taping this was quite difficult due to the lack of a place to put the recorder. I had to place it in my pocket and therefore missed the first songs of the concert. Still this recording came off as acceptable although the sound on the recording isn't quite as good as I'd wish. I guess there was about 100 people there, which means it's PACKED, so some of these bumped into me from time to another.

Equalized, hard limited and normalized with Adobe Audition.
