This outdoor summer show from the end of Joni's 1983 tour came after extensive swings through
Europe and the Far East. Her band is in great form, with new husband Larry Klein echoing Jaco
Pastorius's bass and guitarist Michael Landau punctuating Joni's vocal flourishes with Pat
Metheny-style accents. After playing to sold-out venues overseas, perhaps the disappointment of
half-filled auditoriums in the US had taken its toll on Joni by the end of the tour and
specifically on this date. Halfway through the set, Joni stops to complain about the audience
not paying attention and walks offstage. After composing herself, she returns shortly thereafter
and puts in an impressive performance, even encoring with a rarity, Marvin Gaye's "I Heard It
Through The Grapevine". As it would turn out, the 1983 tour would be her last; in the 23 years
since this show, she has only performed a handful of times on special occasions.

The recording is an audience matrix painstakingly combined from 2 sources, both of which had
different portions missing due to technical difficulties. By combining the 2 recordings, the
show is 99% complete and no music is missing.
