*The Paradise used to have a large column / support pole right in front of the stage, about 20 feet back, which was a favorite spot to set up fob/dfc, since the pole was a great immovable �blocker� protecting the mic stands and taping equipment from random drunks staggering through. The pole was recently removed after many years, in a rehab / redesign of the Paradise, since it did obstruct sight lines (as well as staggering drunks). I think the tapers are the only ones who miss it.
