Karl Denson's Tiny Universe
Waterfront Blues Festival
Portland, OR.
July 3, 2009

Recorded from KBOO FM a local all volunteer radio station. There are always reception problems and drops in sound from this station. Maybe it's just where I live. Anyway, I have tried to find and fix all the drops in sound. This year not all the first day was broadcast. Not sure why. Etta James canceled and was replaced by Keb Mo' but his recording contract wouldn't allow his broadcast.

Please understand that I don't know all these bands and it's hard for me to come up with all the set list's. I'll do my best and ask for help when needed.

Linage: FM tuner straight to HD>CD Wave>TLH>FLAC>torrent.

This is a big undertaking for me every year and I love doing it. Please leave your comments, I enjoy reading them. Enjoy the tunes, twofthrs

Bridging the gaps between soul, jazz, rock and blues, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe sells out such major venues as San Francisco’s Fillmore Ballroom, New Orleans’ Tipitina’s and Portland’s Crystal Ballroom with a hard-grooving, improvisation-based sound that appeals to 40-something jazz fans as well as young hippie followers of Phish and other “jam bands." In the early ‘90s, saxophonist Denson did five years and two recordings with rocker Lenny Kravitz, then founded the Greyboy All-stars, whose resurrecting of boogaloo jazz and ‘70s funk helped spearhead the “acid jazz” movement. Lately, Denson has been touring with all three of his projects, the Greyboy All-stars, Lenny Kravitz, and his Tiny Universe, which he brings to the Waterfront for a main-stage set Friday, July 3, followed by an after-hours super jam at the Marriott Ballroom.

Please help with Set List.
