KEITH RICHARDS
and The X-Pensive Winos
The 1988 US shows
24th November – 17th December 1988
This is a series dedicated to Keith Richards’ shows with The X-pensive Winos in the US in 1988.
A big thank you to all the people who recorded these shows and who shared them and to my two accomplices nzb and Jaap (Stonesmuziekfan) who gave me the benefit of their versions of these shows and their advice and support ... and therefore without whom this project would not have been possible.

We had three sources from this show- all incomplete:
On source #1, sent by nzb, the first three tracks are missing (version #1) and it ran too fast (it had to be decelerated by -8,75%.)
Source #2 ‘Keef Riff Hard’ (Zero Records ZR CD 202-2) also misses these tracks plus ‘Big Enough’ but the speed is correct and it has the best sound.
Source #3 sent by Jaap (3rd Gen Maxell UDXLII Tape > technics rs-t60r > phillips cdr 760>EAC>TLH>flac): This one has a good sound, misses the last track but contains the 3 first tracks we were missing.
I decided to do a mix from these 3 sources to get the complete show with the best of sound.
I used version #2 for the basis and completed it with the other ones. For all I reworked the transitions between the tracks that now start with the song.
For version #1: I decelerated it by -8,75%, amplified the sound and equilibrated the channels.
For version #3: I accelerated it by +0,5%, I amplified the sound a little and equilibrated the channels (+10% for the right channel).
Our versions complemented each other and so for the first time we have a complete recording of this show!
As usual all the infos are taken from The Rolling Stones Complete Works Database by Nico Zentgraf: http://www.nzentgraf.de/books/tcw/works1.htm
