Was really looking forward to this show however this being an outdoor, uncovered venue, the summer weather in Atlanta will always dictate what happens. Weather people said a passing shower early and then no rain until the following day. Got to the seats and clouds were really building. Show started 10-15 minutes late with more than half empty seats. Just as they started playing the thunder and lighting really started up and so they shut down after 25 minutes which you can hear at the end of the last track. If you listen closely with headphones you can hear some of the thunder.

I've been experimenting with the DR2d and still have some work to do. I ran both the CA14s and internal mics to see what a matrix would sound like but really wanted to ensure the CA14s came out ok. Still haven't mastered the deck and for some reason the externals would not peak above -20 to -18 db even with the pre-amp cranked. Didn't help that the PA was not very loud (sure didn't need to wear ear plugs) THEN I messed up the gain on the internals at the start so neither recording came out perfect. What I decided to do was include both the CA14 recording alone and a matrix with the internals which give it a much fuller sound. I boosted the overall sound level on the CA14 tracks and then some leveling out the two for the matrix. Still, it's about 60/40 internals. There's phasing issues, people talking, thunder, etc. At least he didn't have the horn section like earlier this year.

Enjoy, MrFender.
