The artists in this torrent are the headliners from the
22nd annual Ki Ho'alu Slack Key Guitar Festival on Maui.
As you'll hear, the slack key styles range from traditional
Hawaiian to falsetto to C&W to Hot Tuna (in fact, Bobby
Moderow - who appeared earlier in the show - performed
Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb"!)

The festival itself was 7 hours so if there's sufficient interest
to prepare and seed the earlier acts, I'll work on that.

The last Maui Slack Key Fest I attended and seeded was 3 years ago.
At that time, the fest felt more like a backyard, family BBQ with
uncles and aunties playing.

This year, the artists still had that feel, but they brought in an
very loud DJ from an Oahu radio station and his presentation was a
bit overbearing. Apparently, this festival was webcast and I'm guesing that
the MACC was looking for someone to really keep the show moving. To the
DJ's credit, he did that very well - in spite of the lame jokes!
I edited him out of this torrent except for the parts
where his patter was actually interesting or integral to the song.

During the Dennis Kamakahi/Stephen Inglis set, there were several
long intros to the songs. I made these separate tracks. Shorter
artist raps and intros remain as part of the song tracks.

Also included in the torrent file is a .jpg of the festival advert
as well as a pdf of the artist bios that appeared in the festival program.

Finally, for anyone who has not actually been to Hawaiian music
concerts or festivals in the islands, a tradition is to end the
evening with everyone on stage and in the audience joining hands
and singing "Hawaii Aloha".
