source: Core Sounds binaural mics > unknown minidisc recorder > Ben Windham's master minidisc
transfer to DAT (circa June 1999): master minidisc > Sanyo minidisc player > (analog connection) > Tascam DA-P1 > 44.1kHz DAT
Transfer from DAT (Aug. 26, 2023) DAT > Sony PCM-R500 DAT > spdif > Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 (2nd generation) audio interface > USB > MacBook Air M1 > SoX > flac > iZotope RX 10 Advanced v10.4.0.1926 (see editing notes below) > X Audio Compression Toolkit 2.55 (sector boundaries corrected, tagged) > flac
Editing notes:
* EQ was applied to reduce mid-range muddiness and to slightly boost the high end: 3.5db reduction at 550 Hz with a 1.0Q curve; 1.5db boost at 1100 Hz with a 0.8Q high shelf curve;
* During applause only, audio compression was applied (because applause was significantly louder than music) using the AudioDamage RoughRider 3 plugin. Settings: 0db input; 30:1 ratio; -20db sensitivity; 0db makeup; 0ms attack; 10ms release; 100% mix; 0db output
* During a handful of brief passages where the sax was significantly louder than other passages, audio compression was applied, again using the RoughRider 3 plugin. Settings: 0db input; 30:1 ratio; -10db sensitivity; 0db makeup; 0ms attack; 10ms release; 100% mix; 0db output
* The entire recording was normalized by 8.0 db, then the right channel was boosted another 0.72 db;
* I used iZotope's Spectral De-Noiser plugin to reduce noise throughout using a sample of noise near the beginning of the recording. Settings: 0db threshold, 9db reduction, best-quality setting
* Fades at the beginning and end of the recording were applied.
Notes:
Track breaks are arbitrary... The entire improvised performance is probably considered one piece.

I couldn't understand the name of the percussionist... Sounds like Jamal Farr or Nimal Parr...
