Review:
Fresh off the success of their 2025 block party (a few of the sets from there are still up on
Dimeadozen, if you're curious), the Croxton organised another go around for 2026 with the same
headliner on both days - King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, the local heroes who've become one
of the most prolific bands in the world and one of the few Australian acts to have made it big
overseas in a way that doesn't make us cringe about our terrible excuse for a culture. After a
relatively quiet year for the Gizz (one album and just 11 shows prior to this), they promised the
carpark in Melbourne's north a pair of back-to-back marathon sets, making their way through all
parts of their discography.

And it almost got derailed before it could even begin, with a generator failing during their first
song and taking all the sound (and visuals, they had a very impressive live LED screen behind them)
with it. After a couple of minutes of crowd discomfort, which I've cut out from this recording (you
already hear enough shit from the dweebs in the audience who decided it was worth $100 to stand in
a carpark so they could drink $15 beers and talk over live music, the last thing you need to hear
is more of that), they got back on stage and picked up where they left off. And then kept going for
more than two hours more, flitting between aspects of their discography with ease - there's some
psych rock songs, there's some ferocious metal, there's half an hour of cyber rave stuff to bring
their newest record into the fold. It's quite eclectic - they covered seventeen different albums
over the weekend - and there'll be something for you to love if you're a fan of the band. The sound
quality isn't bad for my standards, especially now that I've got a windsock for my rare ventures
outside, but the aforementioned crowd noise is pretty annoying and it may grate at times. Still,
though, enjoy.

Requests:
Please don't sell this - nobody, tapers or artists, will like you if you do.
Please keep this info file around if you post it anywhere else (which you're welcome to do!)
If you give this recording a remaster/matrix treatment, please message me before you do so.
I can be reached on Dimeadozen (fuzzbluerain) or Twitter (fuzzybluerain) most easily.
