Review:
Day two at the Block Party for King Gizzard - this time with a completely different setlist, no
power failures, and for my money a better show than the previous day. Opening with one of the
earliest songs in their repertoire (according to the delightful nerds at kglw.net, where I got all
of these setlist details from, this was the first time in over 100 shows that they'd played it) and
moving on through a great set of tunes that covered some of the same ground to yesterday, but in a
different order. They bumped the rave set to earlier in the day, which seemed to flow much better
with what they were doing; a mellow track like 'Antarctica' was a better lead-in to it than the
metal thrashers that they'd done on day one. At this show, the metal stuff came towards the end of
the night, which worked fantastically well and gave Cavs a way to show off with his second
(excellent) drum solo of the set. They closed out with an astonishing, almost half-hour version of
early classic 'Head On/Pill', swinging between moods and genres almost on a dime, finishing the
weekend beautifully. I think this recording is a little bit worse than the first day's, although
the crowd around me was better so there'll be less talking to push through.

Requests:
Please don't sell this - nobody, tapers or artists, will like you if you do.
Please keep this info file around if you post it anywhere else (which you're welcome to do!)
If you give this recording a remaster/matrix treatment, please message me before you do so.
I can be reached on Dimeadozen (fuzzbluerain) or Twitter (fuzzybluerain) most easily.
