King Louie's Blues Revue
Waterfront Blues Festival
Portland, OR.
July 4, 2015

I'm not going to be able to record as much this year. I'll try to get all the major acts and some favorites I've had over the years. Again, KBOO FM is broadcasting the show live. KBOO is an all volunteer station. All proceeds from the festival go to the Oregon Food Bank so please donate if you can. They also have a live stream on the internet. It's an MP3 stream. My set up is an old Technics Quartz Tuner> H2 Zoom> SD card> computer> TLH.

Organist Louis King Louie Pain has assembled all-star line-ups for the Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival several times before, but this band may be the most exciting yet. Three of the Northwests top blues/soul vocalistsANDY STOKES, LISA MANN, and LARHONDA STEELEwill be joined by drummer/vocalist Brian Foxworth, guitarist Peter Dammann, organist Pain, and a pair of Bay Area horn legends: Danny Armstrong and Jules Broussard.

Pain worked with Broussard and Armstrong back in the 70s, and hes excited by the opportunity to unite the two great Bay Area horn players with some of Portlands finest musicians for this very special performance. Broussards resume is particularly impressive; hes worked with Ray Charles, Santana, Van Morrison, Boz Skaggs, Elvin Bishop, Big Mama Thornton, Johnny Otis, Gatemouth Brown and many more.

SOUL SISTERS PRODUCTIONS, LLC is a Muddy Award-winning company best known for organizing benefits for musicians facing financial hardship due to serious illness. SSP also is helping promote the HEALTHNET PAVILION, which is offering free healthscreenings at the Festival all week long.
