This ninth installment from a dedicated Kinks collector returns us to North America after a brief European tour. In this edition, the band performs the penultimate set at one of Anaheim Stadium's 1977 Rockfests. The 10-hour event opened with Sha Na Na, followed by Nazareth and The Tubes, then the Kinks took the stage before Alice Cooper headlined the show. Special guest hosts Flo & Eddie brought their unique charm, while between acts, daredevil pilot Debbie Gary, escape artist The Amazing Randi (who stunned the audience by escaping a straightjacket while suspended upside down above the Big A), and 72-year-old Henri Lamothe�diving off a 40-foot tower into a shallow pool�kept the energy high.

This capture stands out as an excellent record of a more focused performance. With minimal improvisation and lighter on the between-song banter.

As with many releases in this series, this particular show appears to have been less circulated during the torrent era.
