Great recent showcase for Kurt's music and playing with the unbelievable Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. Interesting night that featured Kurt and his music for the first hour, and then switched to Christian McBride with the JALC Orchestra. Kurt's material pushed these great players and featured some fabulous arrangements written by JALC members. I love to hear his tunes opened up in a broader ensemble. I've split the show in such a way that the sometimes lengthy intros by Ali Jackson appear as separate tracks.
I seeded the torrent from the night I attended (5/23/14) a few weeks ago. This was the 2nd night and I captured the audio from the JALC webcast on Livestream. The recording is wonderful.

In my previous uploads of audience recordings I'd made of Kurt and Christian McBride with the JALC Orchestra on 5/23, I'd requested info, from anyone with knowledge of such things, to let me know what the audio quality might be on the JALC live webstreams, and whether it was suitable for an audio torrent on DIME. My intention was to record the audio on 5/24 from the webstream. A few DIMEr's looked into that and got back to me. Here is what Jingledale found out (thanks to him). I'm sharing this info, should anyone wonder about the specs. It's made me confident now that this torrent will be OK.

"the codec is AAC (Advanced Audio Codec), not mp3. AAC is much better quality.
It doesn't matter very much anyway because it is normal for streamed video to have a lossy audio track. This perfectly acceptable on Dime if there are no other lossless sources available."

To my knowledge, there are no other lossless sources available.

Please support these great artists by seeing them live (many are making the summer jazz fest circuit), and by buying their commercially released music.
