Great to hear this material and pairing of Kurt and Mark Turner about 10 years after that ceased being the norm. Not sure if more will come of this, or if it was just a one off. In any case, this was the first night of a week long engagement that followed a week of Kurt's Standard Trio in NYC in late August.
The repertoire here goes back to some unrecorded tunes from the late 90's and up to things from Kurt and Mark's releases up to The Remedy disc that was recorded at the VV in 2006. It also features a tune from The Metta Quartet's Going to Meet the Man dating to that same general time that featured both Kurt and Mark.
Since these shows it seems that Kurt's back doing shows with the Caipi band and the Standards Trio, so hearing this material and band was a treat. I know they did do some other material from the same era over the course of this week, so if anyone can share any other captures of these shows, it'd be appreciated. If anyone wants to hear anything from the Standards Trio shows the previous week, indicate that in the comments, and I'll try to seed something.
As always, please support these great players by paying to see them live, and by purchasing their commercially released material.
