along with Co-sponsor "recorded via accommodations from the Pier 84 security team"
HEY U SIT DOWN
I have recently picked this up along with several other Pier shows from the above mentioned team.
Thanks very much for these newly documented gigs. New known source material popping up after
all these years is beyond A junkie dreams.
Source : Nak 700's > Sony TCD5M > Maxell XLII90 (dolby B encoded). I had a 1st gen cassette copy (most likely
Nak CR-7A > Sony TCD5M) which I transferred to digital.
Linage : AUD > 5th - 10th row DFC > 1st generation Tape > CDr > ME > EAC > TLH level 8 > Flac 16 > You > enjoy
And now some words from the "recorded via accommodations from the Pier 84 security team" people
Amazing sound. Opening act for Angela Bofill. This was his last show before he became "born again"
(which resulted in a distinct change to his sound).

PART II
Here's the whole story. I've change the names to protect the not so innocent
Delsner began booking shows at Pier 84 in the summer of 1981. Previously, NYC summer general admission shows occurred at the
Wollman Skating Rink in Central Park, but the high rent neighbors hated the noise and hubbub and were successful in shutting that
down. Delsner's new spot was brilliant...nobody except maybe the local hookers and drug dealers cared about what happened at the
corner of W. 45th Street and the West Side Highway. And besides, the high volume foot traffic must've been good for their business!!
1981 and 1982 Pier 84 shows ran similar to the Palladium arrangement: the difference was that my friends now decided to forego their
pay in favor of being allowed to walk in a bunch of friends. Everybody was happy: "security" team members got to hang with their
friends, friends got in for free, great recordings were made, and although I have no absolute proof, I'm pretty damn sure that the
lieutenants pocketed the wages that they were supposed to be paying to the four "music head" security guards.
