Since Larry Is A Friend And Taper Friendly, I Get Excited When He Comes To Chicago. The Sound Man At Kingston Mines Has Been Working With Me To Improve The Sound Quality Of These Recordings. This Night I Added My Akg 414'S To The Mix. Both Used To Improve The Drum Sound One By The Drums And Another Was A High Hat. Larry Started Out Slow..Kind Of A Safe First Set. The 2Nd Set Really Rocked. The 3Rd Set, He Really Jammed. About Half Way Thru He Finally Played "Soulshine" That Everyone Was Waiting For. Right After That, He Invited Long Time Friend Eddie Butler To The Stage. Eddie Is A Great Guitar Player From Chicago Whos Been Off The Scene For Almost 13 Years. On The Last Song He Invited Up A Friend Paul Doppelt (Guitar). Paul Is A Very Good Guitar Player Here In Chicago. He Is A Blues Promoter, Guitar Player And Currently Hosts A Monday Night Jam At Bill's Blues Bar In Evanston, Il. The Guests Ended Up Plugging Their Guitars Into An Amp That Wasnt Mic'd. You Can Hear The Guitars But They Are Quieter. Next Time I May Turn Up Larry's Guitar A Little More In The Mix Too. The 3Rd Sets At Kingston Mines Don't Start Til 2:30 Am, Most Musicians In Town Ended Their Sets Much Earlier And Stop By For The Late Set On Saturday Night. Tonight Was No Different. Magic Slim Showed Up To Watch Larry. He Didnt Play But Larry Smiled And Acknowledged Him As He Waked In. I Welcome Your Feedback And Comments On The Recording.. Enjoy...!
