Last Sunday Lars Danielsson and Lesek Mozder
played the last concert of this year's installment of 'Polenallergie',
a new festival, now in its 2nd year, featuring Polish jazz.
The performance was amazing, both in virtuosity and in
the variety of soundscapes the two players produced.
Danielsson switched between cello and double bass,
throwing in the occasional loop and many heartbreaking screeches and wails.
Mozdzer amended his piano by various preparations,
espacially a towel to dampen the sound and glasses to make it,
I don't know what, listen for yourselves!
He also plucked it and beat it and was in great shape.
As was Danielsson, always playing with both hands, both legs and his face ;-)
The evening was mellow, seagulls and swallows screaming
in the blue open sky above the historic ruins of St. Katherinenkirche,
a blackbird joined a bass solo, much to Lars' delight,
although he feigned dismay, as if his loop now was spoiled..
You can tell from my words that a spledid time was had by all!
The recording was rather stealth and some shuffling of feet and cloth
is audible sometimes but don't let it keep you from enjoying another great piece of jazz..
