003. There's Only One Way To Rock

When I heard about the Ronnie Montrose tribute & that it was going to Be Sammy Hagar, Michael Schenker, Michael Anthony & Vinnie Paul, I contacted my buddy that lives in sin citty, because I knew it would be a special occasion.

The awards show it's self tended to be everyone trying to make it about "me". The presenters mostly went up & thanked everyone as if they were the recipients, not the presenters & then gave a small blurb about the award recipients.

David Coverdale, I'm not sure if he was in on the plan, but while he recieved his award, was told that Doug was onstage & next thing Doug was playing, so Dave started w/ Slide it in. Then, after a bit, the house band joined in & David seemed as though he was annoyed & didn't want to continue on, granted Sammy a congrat's & walked off.

Michael recieved his award from Doug Aldrich.

Sammy recieved his award from Eddie Trunk & a somewhat clumsy transition into the tribute, when the curtains opened up, Schenker, Anthony & Paul were ready to go & so it started. Pretty cool!

All Star Jam: Hurriedly, right after the tribute, the rest of the musicians were rushed onto the stage & There's Only One Way To Rock started. There were so many musicians hopped on the stage, I couldn't tell you the names of most of them.

Fun show, especially for the moments recorded here. Dave Coverdale when recieving his award thanked them for this "anal probe" :)...
