transfer:
Sound Devices 722 > firewire > pc > WaveLab 5.01b (DSP) > CD Wave v1.95.1 > FLAC v1.1.4 (Level 8)

notes:
recorded from the first row, 1 seat right of dead center
(an aisle runs up the center of the first few rows, so this was as close to center as possible)
the mics were in a hat, in an approximate ORTF configuration

Digital Signal Processing (DSP) included:
fades, error correction (see notes below)
3:1 dynamic compression, resample to 44.1 kHz, uv22hr dither to 16 bit

these 16 bit, 44.1 kHz files are ready to be burned to audio CD
a 24 bit, 96 kHz version is also available

error correction notes:
The 722 used in this recording had a faulty A/D board.
The beginning of the show had no problems.
The digital clicks started in disc 2 track 03. at first just a few seemlingly random clicks.
unfortunately, as the show went on, the digital errors became more and more frequent.
By the end of the show, there was constant static in the recording, literally thousands of errors in the last track.
However, the vast majority of errors were just one misplaced sample. I used linear interpolation to fix these errors.
All error correction was done at with the original 24 bit, 96 kHz files.
While not ideal, each sample is only 1/96000th of a second, so linear interpolation between two good samples proved to
be a very good method of fixing the recording. based on the results, I'm very happy that this recording was able to
be salvaged. You probably wouldn't have even noticed if I didn't tell you about it.
After several critical listenings, only in the last track, the encore, could I hear any remaining artifacts from the
error correction. and even so, they are very minor, thousands of times better than the starting point.
So sit back and enjoy this wonderful recording of this fantastic performance.
