When listening to the raw file, the first song seemed to be a soundcheck because they didnt seem to have any kind of mix. The volume was being played with at the soundboard. The taper was trying to adjust to what they were doing, leons vocals were buried, the piano was too loud. There 2 times that the the volume over the PA jumped so loud that I had to edit them out. I made it as seemless as I could. Just know you will be thankful I did. The rest of the show Leons vocals could have been louder and clearer.

Audacity was used for downsampling, amplification, normalization 99%, Appending the 1st song together after the deletions, Fade-out of track 20 because they went right into a commercially released song.

In Memory of Hubert Sumlin and Pinetop Perkins

The landmark blues event of the millennium is cause for celebration and not to be missed. On Friday, August 31, 2012 in Haymarket Park at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, NE, the Bluesmasters Concert will set off an incomparable one time musical explosion featuring the Bluesmasters with Tim Tucker (guitar), Cassie Taylor (bass and vocals), Doug Lynn (harp) and Larry Thompson (drums), the Allman Brothers Band, Otis Taylor, Elvin Bishop, Leon Russell, Eric Gales and special guests, and hosted by drummer Mick Fleetwood of Fleetwood Mac fame. Dedicated with affection and respect to the memory of the late blues legends and former Bluesmasters Hubert Sumlin and Pinetop Perkins, it promises to be a spectacular performance and tribute to America's greatest gift to world music.

The concert is being presented by Blues Events LLC in conjunction with the University of Nebraska Alumni Association and Lincoln Pro Baseball. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Nebraska Legends Scholarship Program. Blues Events and their partner Direct Music Distribution are involved in various film and musical projects, including most recently Bluesmasters Vol. 2 starring former Jefferson Starship singer Mickey Thomas, the young, multi-talented bassist Cassie Taylor, daughter of Otis, and guitar hero Eric Gales. Significantly, the critically acclaimed and commercially successful release contains the last recordings of both Hubert and Pinetop. Avatar, producer and lauded session guitarist Tim Tucker, who plays outstanding blues guitar on the previous Bluesmasters disk as well as Vol. 2, knew Hubert personally for 30 years and played with him on numerous occasions. The Chicago blues guitar pioneer accompanied Howlin' Wolf live and on record for 25 years before commencing his solo career, and Tucker mourns the loss of a treasured life long friend while citing him for his invaluable contribution to the arrangements and overall tone of the latest historic album: "Hubert's insight and understanding of the blues was immeasurable and can clearly be heard on the Bluesmasters Volume 2, where he had considerable input."

The Allman Brothers Band, founded by brothers Duane and Gregg in 1969, has been an institution and potent force in blues and rock for over 40 years, earning 11 gold and five platinum albums between 1971 and 2005, in addition to a Grammy for "Jessica" in 1995 for Best Rock Instrumental Performance. The band has also been an enormous influence on innumerable fellow artists and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995. They have persevered through the "real life blues" of many personnel changes and much personal tragedy, resulting in the current group of Gregg, Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks as the dynamic guitar duo, bassist Oteil Burbridge and percussionist Marc Quinones, along with original drummers Butch Trucks and Jaimoe Johnson. Their concert appearance will be the first trek to Nebraska in over 15 years, and their only tour stop west of the Mississippi in 2012. Lead singer/organist/guitarist Gregg, a legend in his own right, notes, "Hubert Sumlin and Pinetop Perkins were old dear friends, who regularly joined us onstage. We were always honored to play with them and they are both sadly missing in our band's lives."

Iconoclastic bluesman Otis Taylor has single-handedly reclaimed the banjo as an African-American instrument and taken the electric version and his "trance blues" into realms previously unimagined. His 12 solo albums have not only broken new ground instrumentally, but have allowed him to explore lyrical themes of racism, poverty, violence and redemption with fearless candor and insightful observation. White African won Best Artist Debut from the Blues Music Awards in 2001, followed by 11 other Blues Music Awards. Down Beat magazine acknowledged him with Blues CD of the Year in 2002, 2005, 2007 and 2008 and Taylor cracked the Billboard charts for Top Blues Albums in 2003, 2008, 2009 and most recently in 2010 with Clovis People Vol. 3.

Veteran Chicago blues guitarist by way of Oklahoma, Elvin Bishop has been singing and playing with authentic and unabashed enthusiasm since the mid-sixties. A precocious youth once known as "Pigboy Crabshaw" with the genre-busting Paul Butterfield Band, he assumed the first guitar chair following the departure of Michael Bloomfield and has gone on to forge a name associated with uncompromising musical principles. In 1976 he crossed over with the smash Top 40 hit "Fooled Around and Fell in Love," from Struttin' My Stuff, containing his classic solo and Mickey Thomas on lead vocals. His releases in 2005, 2008 and 2010 with Red Dog Speaks have each made the Billboard Top Blues Albums charts.

Singer, songwriter and piano player Leon Russell has been called "the ultimate rock �n' roll session man" and proves it with a resume as long as his flowing white mane. Arriving in Los Angeles from Oklahoma in the early sixties, he went on to enjoy a sensational career as a studio musician, sideman, featured songwriter on countless recordings, and as a solo artist. His breakthrough 1972 hit single "Tightrope" contained the future standard "This Masquerade" on the "B" side that helped George Benson to cross over from jazz to pop. Russell received Grammys for Album of the Year for Concert for Bangladesh in 1972 and Best Country Instrumental Performance in 2001 for "Foggy Mountain Breakdown." In 2010 he recorded Union with long-time admirer Elton John, and a year later was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Guitar-slinger Eric Gales hails from Memphis, Tennessee and comes from a musical family. He was a child prodigy and has been dazzling audiences with his Hendrix-powered wizardry since the nineties over the course of 10 blues-busting solo releases, including his latest, Transformation in 2011. In 1995 he released Left Hand Band with his brothers Eugene and Manuel. Through the years he has also appeared on tribute albums to Hendrix, Eric Clapton and Led Zeppelin and on The Band of Gypsies Return in 2006 with Billy Cox and Buddy Miles.
