Leonard Cohen
Hamburg Musikhalle
4th May 1970

Average quality audience recording

Downloaded files>CD Wave (file splitting) > FLAC

01 Introduction
02 Unknown song (in French?)
03 Bird on the wire
04 So long Marianne
05 You know who I am
06 Lady Midnight
07 One of us cannot be wrong
08 The Stranger song
09 Joan of Arc
10 Tonight will be fine

I received or downloaded this, with virtually no information as far as I recall beyond "Hamburg 1970", and the file was not split into individual songs. A check in TLH states "track looks like CDDA with probability 100%.".

The sound is a little muffled, but quite listenable. I have placed an eq'd version elsewhere.

I tried to find out more about the unknown song, but so far I have not had any luck there. The last track, Tonight will be fine, sounds more muffled, and might be running fast - it's hard to be sure - if it is fast, it could explain the tape cutting off after that, as the battery may have been running out. Who knows, this is all I have.

If this is for you, enjoy - and if you have a longer and/or better quality version may be share it.

Leonard Cohen item sought! :)

This radio session only seems to exist in mp3 form. Yet I have read a lineage statement online which shows it was converted to flac then mp3.

With people getting older, and lockdowns occurring, a lot of great recordings are emerging....

If you have this, maybe share it? :) -
