LenTalk:

***before HEY, THAT'S NO WAY TO SAY GOODBYE:
Thank you very much for this warm reception, ladies and gentlemen. We want to sing some old songs and some new songs. It is the old one.

***before COMING BACK TO YOU:
Coming Back to You.

***before NIGHT COMES ON:
This is a new song called, "The Night Comes on".

***before DANCE ME TO THE END OF LOVE:
Thank you very much. This is another new song called, "Dance Me".

***DIAMONDS IN THE MINE extra (first) verse:
[I thought I t]old you all about it in the days of Vietnam
When your poets marched for Uncle Ho and your children for Uncle Sam
Which side you're on today, which song you're gonna sing
With the mega stench of corpses that is blowin' in the wind

***before HALLELUJAH:
We'd like to sing one more song and we'll take a break, a break of about 15 to 20 minutes and then we'll come back and start all over again.

***before AVALANCHE:
Thank you very much.

***before A SINGER MUST DIE:
Thank you very much. This next song is addressed among others to the critics. I've been here for a long time and I've seen the critics come and go.

***A SINGER MUST DIE extra verse:
And save me a place in a TWELVE-dollar grave
With those who took money for the pleasures they gave
With those always ready, with those who undressed
So you could lie down with your head on somebody's breast
And the ladies gone moist, the judge has no choice,
A singer must die for the lie in his voice.

***before CHELSEA HOTEL #2:
Oh, thank you very much. [audience calls] We're gonna get around, we're gonna get around to almost everything. There's no hurry, please take off your jackets. We're gonna stick around. We didn't come all this way to sing two or three songs and ....... . I mean it is a very good hotel where we are staying. It's ..... Townhouse, but I prefer it here. I like the air/area(?), you know, better.
There was another hotel I used to live and in the elevator of that hotel I met a young woman. I used to bump into her every night about three o'clock in the morning. She was looking for something. I don't mean she was trying to realize or fulfil her potential. I mean she was actually looking for something. And I said to her, "What are you looking for?" She said, "Kris Kristofferson". I said, "You lucky girl, I'm Kris Kristofferson." I deceived her for a number of days. She was a very great singer and after she died I wrote this song for her.

***before ONE OF US CANNOT BE WRONG:
Thank you for bringing your babies. I love that. I love that. Thank you. Please bring your babies.

***after STORY OF ISAAC false start:
A little less of my guitar, okay Pete?

***after LOVER, LOVER, LOVER:
Thanks a lot, friends. Very kind(?).

***before THE TENNESSEE WALTZ:
This is a song that I didn't write, but I learned it from the jukeboxes in Montreal when I was a kid I forgot the lines of the second verse so I wrote another one and ... ... ... .

***during I TRIED TO LEAVE YOU:
I would like to introduce these musicians from Fairfax, Oklahoma, on the pedal steel and slide guitar, Mr Ron Getman. On the bass guitar, from Fairfax, Oklahoma, Mr John Crowder. From Chicago, Illinois, on the drums, Mr Richard Crooks. From McAllen, Texas, on the electric guitar, Mr Mitch Watkins. On the keyboards, the Pearl of the Pacific, Miss Anjani Thomas.

***before THE PARTISAN:
I wanna thank you for this warm reception tonight. I wanna dedicated this concert to some old friends of mine that passed to the other side, a man and a woman that I met in Greece 22 years ago with whom both of them I spent many nights drinking, hearing stores about this land. The first real writers that I met, the first examples of how serious that craft was, how much diligence and humour that it took, I wanna dedicate this concert to George and Charmine Johnston.
