Sincerely, L. Cohen - Various Artists

Ever since I started doing my "Nobody Sings Dylan Like Dylan" compilations a couple of years ago, I've been planning to do a Leonard Cohen cover collection as well. With Leonard performing his first U.S. show in 15 years tonight, I figured I'd get my little tribute finished.

We've got 16 different songs by 17 different artists. I've included two versions of "Hallelujah" since nobody does all seven verses. The Waterboys and Brandi Carlisle do five verses each, and between them they cover all seven. (Neither of these versions, by the way, is in Fracas's "Hallelujah I'm Covered" sets.)

As always, a big thanks to the tapers, the original uploaders, the nice folks who've sent me recordings, and especially the performers and composer. I hope someone out there will create some artwork for this--thanks in advance! Due to the many different sources, I am not including lineages. I have done nothing to the original files but normalize the levels and fade in and out on each track (using Cool Edit). Sincerely, JS
