Colorado was excellent. I could probably live there.

I had just caught Project/Object the night before in Fort Collins, and met Ike Willis and Napoleon Murphy Brock... Cool guys. I knew they had the 18th open, but it didn't occur to me that Ike might show up at Les' show the next night.

I caught MIRV's opening set at this one, having no idea who they were at the time. I met a guy in the audience who did though, and he gave me the rundown on MIRV. He kept talking to me at the beginning of Claypool's set until I explained I was taping. He passed me a few funny smelling cigarrettes during the show. Big fat ones.

I had a hotel on Colfax, so the Ogden was walking distance. I had a bad cold at the time, so I had downed some NyQuil before I left the hotel, and together with the fatties and a couple beers, I was a fine mess by the time this was over. I sorta drifted and staggered my way out of the building and back to my hotel.

Somehow, the tape came out great. Good atmosphere. Les attracts seriously great players. This band was outrageous.

Question for Claypool collectors: What is the status of Spokane, WA - The Met - 2002.10.23? Did Mr. Toasterland ever trade it out? I noticed he never posted the setlist.
