A Doodee Music Master Recording

"If it's a DOODEE, you know it's the SHITŪ"
- Stripeydave 2008

This post is all about freely sharing some great music, spreading the vibe of these bands, increasing sales of their goods and attendance at their shows and having a little fun.

Cedric Burnside & Lightnin' Malcolm (The Juke Joint Duo / The Two Man Wrecking Crew) filling up The Evening Muse with a heaping helping of some authentic Mississippi shit. They cain't help but crank out some tasty goodies as Cedric's grandpappy is RL Burnside, one of the hill country greats. Lightnin' Malcolm has a traditional hill country influence in his playing as well. With that said, Cedric and Lightnin' put their own signature on a lot of these songs adding a nice freshness while keeping the traditional framework. Malcolm has gotten a little more psychedelic in his playing since last time I taped them here in April. And special guests Garry Burnside (RL Burnside's son) on guitar and Cameron Kimbrough (Junior Kimbrough's grandson) on drums only throw more gasoline on this hill country bonfire. All I can say about Garry's playing is a simple, awestruck "WOW." He came off like a hill country Hendrix.

This one is classified as blues but any guitar lovers do indeed need apply.

Listen to this sample and try and force yourself not to grab this one. If you ain't moved by this Mississippi shit you just might be dead.

This is one you need folks and it's guaranteed to keep your own personal house party goin' full force as long as you crank it. If they're playing anywhere near you do yourself a favor and go get a dose. Ced and Malcolm earn the Uncle D Guarantee in triplicate. And that's fo' got damn sho'. Y'all enjoy.
