LIL ED & THE BLUES IMPERIALS
The 3rd Annual Blues 'n' Bones Fest
Richton Park, IL
June 2nd, 2007

Recorded by Roy Martin very close to the amps using a set of Sound Professionals
Premium Binaural mics plugged into a Sony MZ-NF610 MiniDisc recorder.

Playback of original MiniDisc on a Sony MDS-JE510 deck via optical/TOSlink
output > optical/coax converter > M-Audio Microtrack 24/96.

Cool Edit Pro 2.0 was used for fade in/out only. No other manipulation to the
WAV occurred, so salt & pepper to taste.

CD Wave Editor used to split the large WAV file.

Trader's Little Helper used to fix SBEs ('-fixed' removed from filenames) then
encode to FLAC (Level 8).

The Blues 'n' Bones Fest was a wonderful, albeit small, BBQ and music festival
held on a weekend in early June in 2005, 2006 & 2007 under a large tent in
the village of Richton Park, IL, on the far south edge of Cook County.
Despite the small size, the festival featured top-notch Chicago blues entertainment.
I was lucky enough to attend in 2006 and 2007, making some very enjoyable recordings
and meet & greets with Koko Taylor, Lil Ed & Blues Imperials, Phil Guy among others.
Sadly, the recession of the late 2000s took it's toll on village finances, and there
was no plans for a fest in '08. Which was the right decision, as an EF2 tornado whipped
through the town on Saturday, June 8, 2008 - the probable day the Fest would've
occurred.

Lil Ed & The Blues Imperials were the final, headlining act on this long day of
recording. It appears my recording is mildly incomplete. The capacity of a
blank MiniDisc was just under eighty-one minutes, and the band played beyond
that - but, probably no more than a minute or two. Most likely, since I recorded
several hours that day, I was out of blank MDs or I certainly would've inserted another
one and captured the final few minutes of the show. I enjoy the sound of the recordings
I made under that tent. There's a certain ambience and I was close enough to the amps
to overpower the crowd noise.

Please forgive my incomplete - almost nonexistant - setlist.
