Lilla
Waterfront Blues Festival
Portland, OR.
July 5, 2014

Another year of WBF recordings. Recorded from KBOO FM in Portland, OR. A great lineup again this year. I was looking forward to Greg Allman's set, but he had to pull out due to sickness. Oh well, I wouldn't have been able to share him here anyway. Seems to be much more DJ talking this year, interrupting some music. I just left it in rather than trying to edit each show. Feel free to make any changes you wish for personal use.

I may need help with some of the set list's as I don't know all the bands.

Enjoy, twofthrs

A languid, sultry and sensual neo-soul and R&B mix that is instantly accessible, yet shows a remarkable depth and musical maturity. ~The Oregonian

Its an exciting time for Lilla. One week after graduating from Berklee College of Music, Lilla releases her second self-produced album, "The Awakening," and her soulful-sweet journey continues.

Since the release of her 1st record, "Music Trance," Lilla has worked with and shared the stage with Annie Lennox, Willie Nelson, Mos Def, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Esperanza Spalding, Carol King, Stephen Marley, Ciara, Kenny G, Boyz II Men, Pussycat Dolls, Wu-Tang, Trombone Shorty, Kermit Ruffins, album featured artist Talib Kweli and more. Nationally and internationally, shes played from Kingston, Jamaica to Beijing, China.

As a performer, Lilla has the ability to connect with any audience and communicate musics deepest emotions. With her hand-picked band, ground-breaking originals, and love for live spontaneous collaboration and creation, there are few modern performers that bring the class, presence, entertainment and talent that Lillian does to the stage.

At the age of 6, she taught herself to play the piano by ear and by age 14, began singing in her local gospel choir. In high school, other opportunities presented themselvesin addition to gospel choir, she sang and toured the East Coast with the internationally recognized Royal Blues, at the same time providing stage and studio vocals for several hip-hop and R&B acts. Writing, producing, and performing two full-length albums is one of Lillas greatest accomplishments. Despite the challenges of creating original music, the end product is one of uncompromising dedication to music with integrity.

Her new album,"The Awakening," is a testament to power of music and its ability to bring together musicians, culture, and people, from around the globe. It was recorded all over the map, from Bob Marleys studio in Kingston, JA Tuff Gong, to Portland, OR.
