so NO additional EQ'ing was used here, and none of those compressors, Sonic Maximizer
or other psychoacoustic processors - why ruin another true "Anon Y. Mouse" recording ?

It sounds completely the way it was distinguishable
that night in this venue - IF NOT WAY BETTER ;-)

I balanced just the stereo channels (the left one averagely +1,17 dB),
and reduced some of the instrumental plug ins - leaving the rest untouched.
The only further addition was a short fade-in @ the beginning and a fade-out @
the end, after the audience applause, so truly NO MUSIC was harmed or lost.




THE SOUND HERE ?

It's a true soundboard recording, with additional Neumann
microphones used for the ambient sound between the songs, and
deafmusic mixing & just a bit of lonetaper mastering - 'NUFF SAID !

Their style varied from viking black metal to melodic death/viking metal through the
years. Now they play intense melo-death with viking themes, similar to Amon Amarth.
Their music holds passion, professionality and aggression combined to deadly fast killer
tempo and creating a hell of an atmosphere. A must have for all fans of the genre!

LINDISFARNE was one of those bands that I always really wanted to check out, but for
some reason never managed to, as I had only read very positive things about the
Viking/Black Metal of the guys. Now the band had distanced from this sound and moved
towards "more focussed Death Metal".
Especially when the Viking character of the past comes through, LINDISFARNE fully
convince me, the trio "The Gates Of Valhalla", "Vengeance Of The Elder" and
"Answer The Mountains Call" is a great example for this, because they provide a
lot more melodic riffing (at times reminding me of SLOUGH FEG), epic passages and
generally hymnic passages than blast beats and at the end "Sworn Revenge" reminds
me of ULVER�s ingenious "Kveldssanger" album, pure Folk, very interesting!

Insbesondere, wenn der Viking-Charakter der Vergangenheit durchkommt, �berzeugen
LINDISFARNE auf der ganzen Linie, das Trio "The Gates Of Valhalla", "Vengeance Of The
Elder" und "Answer The Mountains Call" ist hierf�r ein sehr gutes Beispiel, denn hier
h�lt man wesentlich mehr melodi�ses Riffing (teils an SLOUGH FEG erinnernd), epische
Passagen und generell Hymnik bereit als Blastbeat-Gebolze und "Sworn Revenge" am Ende
erinnert mich an ULVERs geniales "Kveldssanger"-Album, reiner Folk, sehr interessant!

Unter gro�em Applaus betraten die f�nf Musiker die B�hne. Das Publikum war sofort da
und feierte "headbangend" ihre Lieblinge. Auch Malon Koch und Sascha Hammesfahr waren
wegen der Jubilare gekommen: "Wir kennen uns alle seit Exit-Zeiten, da ist es keine Frage,
dass man so einen Anlass mitfeiert." Zu h�ren bekamen Fans und Freunde eine Mischung aus
der Bandgeschichte. Es war ein emotionaler Auftritt, auch f�r Bassist Kristof Krannich:
"Toll, dass so viele gekommen sind." Ebenso sahen es auch Frontmann Timo Leonardi und
Bruder Peter, der seit Gr�ndung kurz vor dem Millennium Gitarre spielt. Jan Luchtenberg
am Schlagzeug und eben Philipp komplettieren das Ensemble.
