Lindisfarne fans have a unique chance to see the band play an intimate charity gig as they warm up for their legendary Newcastle City Hall Christmas shows. The Tyneside folk rockers will perform the special live set at The Cluny venue in Newcastle in aid of the Future Fund which is the bands chosen charity. The Future Fund backs world-leading and ground-breaking research into childrens cancers at Newcastle University. For the past three years the band have backed the charity through their live Christmas shows at Newcastle City Hall.
The band will once again be giving the charity a fundraising platform at the City Hall live shows in December, but this year with the added bonus of proceeds from the intimate Cluny live show. The revitalised band are busier than ever and 2017 has again seen the band criss-cross the UK playing festival dates and packed houses.
The band is now fronted by founding member and songwriter Rod Clements alongside Lindisfarne stalwarts Charlie Harcourt, Dave Hull-Denholm, Ian Thomson, Steve Daggett and former Roxy Music drummer Paul Thompson.
The band will play a warm-up gig at The Cluny in Newcastle on 12th of December and have a few musical surprises in store for those lucky enough to get a ticket for the performance, dubbed Lindisfarne Up Close and Seasonal. The charity gig will be the perfect festive treat for anyone heading to the City Hall Christmas dates later in the month on Friday 22nd December and Saturday 23rd December.
Rod Clements said: All the proceeds are going towards the Future Fund which helps finance some truly stunning work at Newcastle University which is changing lives. The gig is also a perfect opportunity for us to road test some different material from the Lindisfarne back catalogue in advance of our return to the City Hall.
