In some respects, this depends on your appetite for turkey. Tempusfugit kindly served us his excellent main course here: http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=764285 complete with all the trimmings (artwork). If you're still hungry for more of the same, here's the cold cuts.

As mentioned elsewhere, it's been quite a year in all things Lindisfarne. TF & I have seen more shows this year than in prior years, and if anything it's merely served to whet our appetites for next year. Tickets were in hand for the 2024 Christmas show before we'd sat down to enjoy this one.

Like last year, early arrivers were ushered in through the side door and down to the City Hall bar, until such time as they were ready to receive us properly into the foyer & main hal. That said, looking around at some of the bewildered faces down there, I can't help but think one or two had just followed the crowd in and were wondering if they were back at their care home.

Not everyone there was on the "at risk" register (being...would they make it to the interval). There's an increasing number of younger folk (and not all of them are our carers) who are now finding their way to "the good, old ways".

Once it was safe to release us into the communal areas ("medication" having been administerd by the friendly br staff) we were once again entertained by the brass band (who, once again were playing Shaking Stevens). It's a warm start to a familiar evening.

I do enjoy the tradition of the pre-show comedian. It's daft, it's silly, but it just works and it was good to see Santa Simma back. To be fair, he is a genuinely ardent fan of the band. We bumped into him at a few shows this year.

Seventh time of seeing the band this year - and it was seventh heaven.

Bit of setlist rotation this evening. Few numbers making their way back after a bit of an absence and a few well played ones that make a bigger impact every time you hear them. As mentioned in another post by steviedee, Statues and Liberties is an incrasingly standout moment. Wish I'd video'd it...DHD's face...he MEANS it...

Very lively crowd, to the point of TF & myself dodging wayward flailing arms front & back narrowly missing our mics. But...unbeatable generosity of spirit in there. A real sense of humanity. How community should be.

Two brilliantly delivered sets earned the Lads the reception they deserved, the crowd in fantastic voice throughout.

One way or another (Gigs, signings, box set, Mirabilias etc...) I've enjoyed a lot of Lindisfarne.

...and I'm ready to enjoy a lot more next year.

Looking at the shows already announced for 2024 they're almost certain to be passing your way.

Hope to see some of you then.
