Lisa Mann & Lara Price
Waterfront Blues Festival
Portland, OR.
July 7, 2019

Once again I've decided to bring some of the festival to you that are interested. Still broadcast by KBOO radio. I was out of town on the forth of July. Didn't get anything from that day. I record with an H2 Zoom hooked up to my old Technics tuner. Hope you all enjoy, twofthrs.

Lisa Mann hails from blues-soaked Portland OR where she has been inducted into the Cascade Blues Association Hall of Fame. In both 2015 and 2016, she won the Blues Music Award for best bassist from the Blues Foundation in Memphis TN, and she has also received the Sean Costello Rising Star Award from Blues Blast Magazine. Originally from West Virginia, her voice effortlessly straddles the line between the honey-sweet warmth of the South and the force-of-nature sound shes cultivated by mastering everything from rock and roll to Memphis soul. Her clever blues balladry is complimented by her considerable prowess on bass guitar, with grooves that touch on the hallowed soil of James Jamerson and Bob Babbitt. She writes the majority of her recorded material, and her songs paint pictures of a gritty (and sometimes humorous) personal experience in life, love and the not-always-pretty music business.

Lara Price was born in the war torn country of Vietnam in 1975. Abandoned at birth, Lara became a part of the controversial Operation Baby Lift, the mass evacuation of orphans from South Vietnam to the United States. Her journey out of Vietnam to her new home was nothing short of a miracle, as 90 percent of the orphaned babies did not survive. Lara Price is a survivor.

Lara arrived in the San Francisco Bay Area in 1997 to pursue her dream of singing in a band. The journey of Laras career includes tours across the United States, China, multiple bands, and 5 CDs that Lara Price has produced, co-written, and on which she has played multiple instruments. Laras journey continues in Austin, Texas. Her 6th CD, I Mean Business, has been picked up by Vizztone Label Group and has earned Lara Price a Best Soul/Blues Female Artist nomination for 2017.
