Source: WWOZ-FM > RadioShark v2.0.2 > Macintosh MacMini (2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo) > aiff > Quicktime 7.6.3 (convert aiff to wav) > wav > flac v1.2.1 (linux command line; level 8 compression) > flac file

Transfer: flac file (transferred by ftp from remote pc) > MacBook Pro (2.5 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo) > X Audio Compression Toolkit 2.18 (convert to aiff) > aiff > Bias Peak Pro 6.2.0.21692 (trimmed, left channel normalized by 6.5 db, split into tracks) > X Audio Compression Toolkit 2.18 (sector boundaries repaired, level 8 compression) > flac

Notes: A long station ID was reduced by 83 seconds at 1:56 into Track 6.

The sound quality of the first few minutes of this recording is somewhat mediocre. WWOZ, intentionally or not, started the feed from the Fair Grounds prior to introducing the show, playing the music under the radio station's music calendar, but primarily in the left channel. Disc jockeys introduce what's coming up (or, already playing) immediately after the music calendar, but primarily in the right channel. For the first 2:23 of this recording, I took the original right channel, phase-inverted it and merged it with the left channel to remove as much as possible the canned music calendar and the subsequent DJ yakking. The resulting left channel was then cloned to stereo. After the DJ stops talking, about 6 seconds into Track 2, there is a crossfade into the unedited broadcast.
