Goody's comments:
What a beautiful mess this is... The vocals are either not there or they're distorted. The mix is atrocious.

But the playing! Man, the playing... Richie's tight drumroll fills. Two smokin' guitars. Groovin' for days. Billy gluin' it all together. And those songs!

Yeah, it's a Little Feat show alright.

I wonder what the poor folks listening to this on the air that night thought? "Well, I sure am lovin' this. But what are they thinking, broadcasting something as unprofessional sounding as this? Will the FCC fine them for improper modulation? Take away their license completely?? Sure, we're lucky to just get any scraps thrown our way. And these sure are the creme de la creme of 'scraps'. Uhhh, Rilly..."

OK. Enough of my snark. This show rocks! And I sure do love the different perspectives offered here by this hapless engineer behind the board that day. ;-) To give him the benefit of any doubt, he was probably scurrying around back then, trying to do his best to figure out what was going wrong... and why... and how to make it right, ASAP. Or, he had another one rolled up and ready ta go, and it was all just, like, fine, brah - don't know what 'cher sayin'...

Sorry - more unavoidable snark. This isn't about me. It's about Lowell and his compadres trying to make do on a cold day in Illinois, America, 1976. Doin' what they love. Doin' what nobody else does near as well on his best day. We're lucky enough for it to have survived in some form that I could bring this new pitch-corrected remaster to you today. It was originally playing kinda slow/flat. Patched up a big dropout in the first track with a little trickery, too. Don't think y'all'll mind.

This all means THANKS for the source and all involved in getting it down its checkered past to my inbox. Just been havin' a little fun with y'all. Meantime, I've listened to it about half a dozen times, just gettin' it fixed up. The honor and pleasure's all mine. Wait'll you hear this "Long Distance Love". Thank Lowell there's nothin' wrong with THAT... Three minutes and thirty seconds of perfection right there.

Oh - and dig the vintage commercials mixed in with some of the applause. Surprisingly unobtrusive. Well, ya know, they didn't just give this stuff away for free... But WE do!

This is a hot one...

Thanks for leavin' a little somethin' behind, boys. Doesn't mean we're still not gonna be missin' y'all.
